Solid hardwood flooring can last for decades with the correct installation and proper care. It can be sanded and refinished to reinstate its natural attractiveness should the floor lost its sparkle. It is also will get dented or scratched, but with the coating and finishing that are done accordingly during the installation, the floor surface will have a protection that reduce the chances of scratches.
